I created this document by the end of my 3rd week as the Director of PLG at PredictHQ. While I had previous artifacts related to this exercise from working at the PLG team at Heap, I searched Reforge Artifacts for inspiration and found this

I decided to make my own version incorporating the activation and adoption stages I use, the JTBD framework (just hypothetical, before validating through interviews), and additional GTM concepts like tailoring it all for personas and use cases as necessary. By employing growth, GTM, and PLG best practices, I wanted to get better signals about the PMF of each use case. This exercise was helpful in aligning every one around the investment decisions and strategic roadmap paths.

I built a different spreadsheet for each use case. This example is for a business use case, for which the web app was built before my time at PredictHQ.

Once I had a solid V1 of the spreadsheet, I circulated it among key stakeholders to collect their feedback and refine it.

I was tasked with very complicated cross-functional communication and alignment challenges in my first 30 days of my new role. I needed to bring together 4 different teams and multiple execs along for the ride of the first PLG and Growth analysis. This was an opportunity to identify and align on key friction points and improvement opportunities.

This helped facilitate the discussion around how to define PQLs.

This was one of the early discussions we had as team when I joined. PLG does not equal self-serve, it's a mix. Aligning with EPD and GTM teams on the right mix is crucial.
