This was a resource used while I was leading Product Operations at TripActions. It was used for all product launches small or large. If the launch was small, we'd pare it back to the appropriate number of steps. This ensured a consistent process so that no step was missed, and all XFN stakeholders were brought along throughout.

This was the only way we were able to ensure launch consistency for all product areas of the organization. Feedback was positive - we were able to have higher quality feature releases, all the right parties were informed/brought along, and ultimately, our customers benefited.

I wish we would have started with a template like this earlier! We needed to create it from scratch after the company had experienced a few product releases that didn't go to plan. Often new PMs, Product Operations teams and companies don't spend the time ensuring they have comprehensively thought through a product release (big or small) and what needs to be done. This is a great starting point, ready for your tailoring!

My advice is to start with this template and customize it to your teams - be that actual teams / names and functions. This is a very comprehensive list, so it is a great place to start because it will identify a number of steps that are often easily overlooked.
