Growth was a completely new function at Snyk when I created this job description. Experience with growth and experimentation programs at scale was thin on the ground amongst the initial team. It was important that we infused some experience into the team to help further establish the growth culture and enable more rapid adoption of growth practices within the team.

This was intentionally inclusive around experience and focus - we had multiple growth PM roles that we needed to fill and wanted to cast a wide net.

Calling out the growth org principles, and our mission was important to attract folks with the mindset and approach that these would resonate with.

All of this section was phrased not only to be an accurate depiction of the role, but also to set the tone for how this org worked - again, to attract the right profile of candidates.

We were hiring for multiple roles with this single JD and were willing to hire into one of the positions with a more junior candidate, knowing they'd be working in a group balanced with more experienced folk. It's been my experience also that some of the best growth PM candidates have come from non-PM backgrounds. Engineering, Data, and Marketing, for example. I was looking for growth experience but didn't want to constrain that to just in product management.

This was a JD I created early on in my tenure at Snyk as we were building out the initial growth org. I led the work here as part of a broader hiring plan that I collaborated closely on with the internal recruitment team. 

One interesting thing to note is that this JD looked and read quite differently to previous product roles at Snyk - demonstrative of the fact that we needed the growth org to work differently to the core product org.

We're looking for a product manager to work as an integral part of a diverse cross-functional team to drive impact in key areas of
